Are
all payments made electronically ?
|
Answers
Are all payments made electronically
?
Whenever
a payment can be made electronically this method will
be used. This is generally dependent on the relationship
with the payee (such as the cable company, utility company,
etc.), the amount of the transaction and how long you
have been using bill payment services.
Until an “electronic” relationship has
been established, with the payee, payments will be
made by paper check or draft. These paper items will
post to your checking account and will have check numbers
in the 5,000 range.

Can I enter a bill payment to the
new payee during those two business days ?
|
Answers
Why is it important to enter the
"Payment Due Date" when entering bills ?
The NEW Online Bill
Payment system works off of the Payment Due Date.
This means when you enter the date
the payment is due the system will work backwards
to begin processing the payment in time for it to reach
the payee.
You will be presented with
a calendar showing the earliest date available
for payment based on the method of payment (paper draft,
electronic payment, etc.)
The new system takes care of the calculations and
guarantees timely payment. In
most cases, payments
are not drawn on your account prior to the
due date. This allows your money to
stay in your account for longer, earning
you more interest.

What about
information that is stored on your systems. Is
it encrypted as well ?
|
Answers
What exactly is encryption
and why does it make everything more secure ?
Encryption
is a way to rewrite sensitive information into a
special code or language which can then be transmitted
from one location to another.
During transit this
information is unreadable in its encrypted form.
This coded information can only be decoded by your
computer and our systems.
Our systems employ the latest encryption technologies
meaning sensitive information is encrypted
at least 128 times before it is ever transmitted
via the Internet.
To fully benefit from these encryption
technologies it is recommended that your internet
browser be Internet
Explorer 6.0, Netscape
7.0 or a more recent version.
