Cabarrus Bank & Trust Unveils Plans for New Building
Monday, June 30th, 2003 - Concord, NC - Cabarrus
Bank & Trust held a groundbreaking ceremony to
announce the construction of its new office on Palaside
Drive in Concord, NC.
"Today we are ceremoniously breaking ground
for our new office," said Alex Rankin, Chairman of the Board
of Cabarrus Bank & Trust, "But we broke new ground in
Cabarrus County several months ago when we started a new
bank that will provide the financial needs for this community
for years to come."

Speakers at the ceremony included Rankin,
Concord Mayor Scott Padgett, Cabarrus County Chairman, Robert
Freeman; John Cox, President of Cabarrus Regional Chamber
of Commerce and Susan Rourke, Cabarrus Bank & Trust Board
of Directors, Site Committee Chair; and Sanjay Mistry, President
Cabarrus Bank & Trust. Pastor Mike O'Brien of Oakgrove
and South China Grove United Methodist Churches delivered
the invocation and blessing of the food. Special recognition
was given to Rebecca Rowland, also in attendance, the nine-year
old who was the first individual to purchase the first stock
sold to capitalize the bank in 2002.
The new, state-of-the-art, 2,700 square
foot, building will be located adjacent to Kerr Drugs at
the intersection Palaside Drive and Arbor Street. The property
was purchased from Action Development Corp. Construction
will begin this week with a grand opening planned by year-end.
R.J. Fisher Construction Company, Inc. of Concord, NC will
build the facility designed by local architects Yates/Chreitzberg
Architects, both of Concord, NC.

The brick building will face Palaside Drive
and feature three drive-through windows and one ATM that
is accessible by vehicle. Inside there will be three offices,
a conference room and four teller stations. "The new building
will allow us to offer all the conveniences that our customers
deserve," said Sanjay Mistry, President of Cabarrus Bank & Trust. "But
more important than brick and mortar, is that we continue
to provide banking services on a personal level, one relationship
at a time."
Cabarrus Bank & Trust began its hometown
approach to community banking on Friday, April 11, 2003.
Organizers rallied community support behind the capitalization
efforts and raised the necessary capital to open the Bank
with over 800 shareholders.
