Mitch Miller Joins Uwharrie Capital Corp As
Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer

Tuesday, September 12th 2006 - Albemarle, NC - Roger Dick, President and Chief Executive Officer of Uwharrie Capital Corp, is pleased to announce that Mitch Miller joined the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer on August 1, 2006.

Mitch has over twenty-five years’ experience in the financial services industry, having worked both as a banking executive and most recently as a bank regulator with the North Carolina Commission of Banking.

On his decision to join Uwharrie Capital Corp, Roger Dick commented, “For the past few years, we have had the opportunity to work alongside Mitch as a regulator, and we believe his diverse experience in the financial services industry will be a valuable asset to our company. Mitch is a graduate of Wake Forest University and received his Masters in Business Administration from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a native of Concord and resides there with his wife, Rebecca Miller and their two children Ashlyn and Colin.
